American International Group, Inc. (NYSE: AIG) is down only about 2% after reports that the company could find itself leaderless again.

A123 Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: AONE) is trading down 3% after earnings and concerns over a partnership.

MBIA Inc. (NYSE: MBI) is trading up over 3% this morning after getting crushed yesterday, M.J. Whitman’s Third Avenue took a stake.

Palm Inc. (NASDAQ: PALM) is running over 3% on an analyst call.

Sigma Designs, Inc. (NASDAQ: SIGM) is down 8% on a downgrade.

Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: REGN) is trading up 10% after Sanofi-Aventis expanded its antibody pact substantially.

We have many options on watch as well:

  • Cadence Pharmaceutical Inc. (NASDAQ: CADX) is one to watch with a huge binary volatility trade ahead of the 11/13 PDUFA date for Acetavance as a treatment for acute pain.
  • There was some interesting options trading seen yesterday in the trifecta fertilizer merger war via Terra Industries Inc. (NYSE: TRA), CF Industries (NYSE: CF), and Agrium (NYSE: AGU).
  • Brocade Communications Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: BRCD) gave a stock and option alert yesterday, but it went even more active in options with the NOV09 $9 CALLS seeing 24,450 contracts and the NOV09 $10 CALLS seeing 17,432 contracts.

Fremont General  (FMT) Down 50% today. Finally delisted. Hit bottom at $.26 against 52-week high of $13.80.

Avnet (AVT) Warns on profits. Slips to $27.76 from 52-week high of $44.68.

Kinetic Concepts (KCI) Sells convertible notes to fund acquisition. Drops to $40.27 from 52-week high of $66.77.

Northrop Grumman (NOC) Company plans to take first quarter charge. Sells down to $71.39 from 52-week high of $85.21.

Tesoro Corporation (TSO) Bad day for oil refiners. Concerns about margins. Falls to $25.06 from 52-week high of $65.98.

Gannett (GCI) Part of bath newspaper companies are taking. Sells off to $27.26 from 52-week high of $61.68.

Crocs (NASDAQ:CROX) Warns on numbers. Falls to $10.10 from 52-week high of $75.21.

Affymetrix (AFFX) Revised forecast for 2008 down. Drops to $10.08 from 52-week high of $31.95.

Novatel Wireless (NVTL) Company says it will miss Q1 numbers. Sells off to $7.42 from 52-week high of $29.14.

Sigma Designs (SIGM) Analyst says company is losing market share. Drops to $15.31 from 52-week high of $73.

Borland Software (BORL) No news. Project management software company shares move down to $1.40 from 52-week high of $6.22.

Enbridge Inc. (ENB) and Enbridge Energy Partners, L.P. (EEP) had a pipeline blow late yesterday that has oil up as much as $4 today; two workers were killed; the explosion and fire on an Enbridge Energy Partners’ crude oil pipeline approximately three miles southeast of Enbridge’s Clearbrook, Minnesota terminal is apparently one of the Canadian pipelines that comes down to the U.S. and it is a supply risk.
Fred’s (FRED) $0.12 EPS after $0.02 "timing event" versus $0.14 estimate; hired Merrill Lynch to help it review strategic alternatives after receiving interest from multiple parties.
HJHeinz (HNZ) $0.71 EPS vs $0.69 est.; put guidance at higher end of range for next quarter.
Lululemon (LULU) trading up 10% after beating earnings and raising guidance.
Medco Health (MHS) announced a 2 for 1 stock split.
Men’s Wearhouse (MW) trading down 12% after disappointing earnings.
Sigma Designs (SIGM) traded up 14% after posting $0.79 EPS vs $0.54 estimates.
Ultralife Batteries (ULBI) receive a $2.6 million order from the U.S. Defense Department.
VeraSun Energy (VSE) and US BioEnergy (USBE) are going to merge operations into a single company; USBE shares up 8%.
Vimpel-Comm (VIP) trading up 5% after beating earnings expectations.
WellCare Health Plans, Inc. (WCG) traded up 10% after-hours after announcing that on November 21, it received an executed Contract between the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. This one had been battered after that FBI raid killed the stock in recent weeks.
