(NASDAQ: TTWO) reported fiscal fourth-quarter and full-year 2013 results after markets closed today. For the quarter, the video game producer posted adjusted diluted earnings per share (EPS) of $0.38 on revenues of $330.1 million. In the same period a year ago, the company reported an EPS loss of $0.60 on revenues of $148.1 million. Fourth-quarter results compare to the Thomson Reuters consensus estimates for EPS of $0.28 EPS and $280.36 million in revenues.

For the full year, Take-Two reported revenues of $1.22 billion and EPS of $0.36, compared with 2012 revenues of $825.8 million and an EPS loss of $0.71.

On a GAAP basis, the company reported quarterly adjusted EPS of $0.23, compared with an EPS loss of $0.78 in the year-ago quarter.

Revenue from digitally delivered content grew 148% year-over-year and 192% in the quarter when compared with the fourth quarter of 2012.

The company’s CEO said:

Take-Two delivered strong revenue growth and solid non-GAAP earnings for fiscal year 2013, driven by robust demand for our groundbreaking new releases, iconic catalog titles and expanding portfolio of digitally delivered offerings. … Looking ahead, we have an extensive pipeline of next-generation and emerging platform titles in development, including both new intellectual property and releases from our proven franchises. As a result, our current outlook is to be profitable on a non-GAAP basis in fiscal 2015 and for the foreseeable future.

For the first quarter of fiscal year 2014, the company guided revenue to a range of $100 to $125 million and expects an adjusted EPS loss in the range of $0.55 to $0.70. For the full year, the company expects revenues of $1.75 to $1.85 billion. Full-year EPS is expected to fall into the range of $2.05 to $2.30.

Shares are trading up 4% at $17.03 in after-hours trading today, in a 52-week range of $7.37 to $16.68. Thomson Reuters had a consensus analyst price target of around $16.65 before today’s report.

As Fat Tuesday quickly turns into Ash Wednesday, Lent will take place from Wednesday, February 13 to Saturday, March 30 in 2013. It may not seem like much on the surface, but this puts companies that sell sinful or excessive consumer products in the position where all the sacrificed joys given up during Lent will take place all in the first quarter of 2013. The list of the seven deadly sins includes gluttony, anger, greed, sloth, envy, pride and lust.

24/7 Wall St. wanted to come up with a list of companies that might fall victim to a portion of the public observing Lent by giving up something precious for more than 40 days all contained in the same quarter. We certainly are not trying to say that these products are all bad, because many are too well anchored in our culture to be eliminated for very long. Many of them are even too fun or too precious to give up.

It has been nearly two years since we gave our own list of the 10 things that Americans waste the most money on. You may guess many of them: certain apparel items, tobacco, entertainment, alcohol, TV and media, gifts, food outside of the home and more. We also want to stress that if you live your life to avoid all of those things, chances are high that you are considered the most boring person alive by your friends and neighbors.

All things being equal, many in America and the rest of the world actually do give up something during Lent. Some sacrifices are physical things that cost money. Other sacrifices are simple (or difficult) personal efforts that have nothing to do with wasting money or being bad for your health. We have picked the largest companies that we feel have large direct exposure to changes of public behavior, particularly that fit into the sin or waste category.

Not all of these companies would fit directly within the category of being “sin stocks.” We are not trying to identify companies as being sinful. We are showing many companies that could be adversely impacted if Joe Public takes Lent very seriously this year. As a reminder, we already had one quarter of negative gross domestic product growth, and consumer spending is up to 70% of that figure.

As happened yesterday, the focus was on Europe, where Italy’s oldest bank was expected to reveal the extent of its derivatives losses, estimated by some to be as high as €1 billion. German factory orders came in slightly below estimates. In Asia, the early resignation of one governor from the Bank of Japan sent the Nikkei up nearly 4%. There was little data out in the U.S. today. Mortgage applications rose 3.4% from last week (more coverage <a href="http://247wallst.com/2013/02/06/mortgage-applications-increased-last-week/"title="Mortgage Applications Increased Last Week" >here) and crude oil inventories also rose. But today has mostly been spent waiting for news from Italy. In the event, shares came close to a flat finish.

The U.S. dollar index rose 0.3% today, now at 79.721. The GSCI commodity index is up 0.4% at 676.70, with commodities prices lower today. Brent crude trades up 0.2% at $116.80 a barrel. Natural gas is up 0.8% today at about $3.43 per million BTUs. Gold settled up 0.3% today at $1,678.80 an ounce.

The unofficial closing bells put the DJIA up less than 7 points to 13,985.98 (0.05%), the NASDAQ fell about 3 points (-0.10%) to 3,168.48, and the S&P 500 rose 0.05% or less than 1 point to 1,512.06.

Today’s winners include a paper company that rose in its initial public offering, a photo-sharing website that reported better-than-expected sales and a videogame maker that reported better-than-expected profits. Today’s sole loser was a videogame seller that could be hurt due to a change with XBox.

We have blown through some of the news in rapid-fire fashion to get more summaries and more movers to you. We have shown the price changes and added color if applicable.

Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. (NYSE: CMG) investors had grown used to the stock selling off but by beating revenue and meeting earnings estimates the consensus is that it was good enough. Shares were up almost 3% at $313.74 on over 200,000 shares since the closing bell.

CSG Systems International Inc. (NASDAQ: CSGS) is trading higher after beating earnings and raising guidance. Shares are up a sharp 12% at $21.00 but volume is less than 10,000 shares in the after-hours session so far.

Expedia Inc. (NASDAQ: EXPE) must just be considered good enough as revenue beat expectations but its earnings were soft at $0.63 EPS. Shares are up almost 4% at $70.01 in the after-hours trading session.

Glu Mobile Inc. (NASDAQ: GLUU) may have missed the mark as it is warning about first quarter sales even though it beat fourth quarter expectations. Shares are down about 5% at $2.01 in the after-hours session on 30,000 shares.

The Hain Celestial Group Inc. (NASDAQ: HAIN) continues to struggle with valuation on mixed guidance and earnings estimates this year of $2.40 to $2.47 EPS. Shares are down 4% at $57.09 on more than 60,000 shares since the close.

Hewlett-Packard Co. (NYSE: HPQ) is trading higher on more rumors that the company is reconsidering a break-up. We would caution that Meg Whitman decided it would be too costly to do this break-up that Leo Apotheker wanted to do. Shares of the DJIA component are up almost 5% at $17.35 in the after-hours trading session.

Pike Electric Corp. (NYSE: PIKE) reported that revenue rose 59% and shares were already up almost 6% on their own ahead of the report. Now shares are up 9% at $12.00 in the after-hours.

Shutterfly Inc. (NASDAQ: SFLY) is trading up after beating earnings and raising guidance. Shares are up 16% at $38.50 and that will mark a 52-week high.

Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. (NASDAQ: TTWO) was halted for earnings. The video game outfit beat expectations on sales and earnings, but it appears as though guidance may be a tad light. Shares are currently up over 10% at $14.00 but trading is on thin volume.

Zynga Inc. (NASDAQ: ZNGA) is up 6% at $2.91 after earnings and that is after shares rose 7% after Bank of America/Merrill Lynch raised its rating on valuation this morning. FULL ZYNGA COVERAGE

In Asia, China’s PMI came in better than expected and Australia’s central bank left its key interest rate unchanged. In Europe, eurozone non-manufacturing PMI came in slightly better than expected. After yesterday’s worst session of the year so far, today’s trading seems positively sprightly.

The U.S. dollar index fell 0.02% today, now at 79.536. The GSCI commodity index is down 0.8% at 673.87, with commodities prices mixed again today. (NASDAQ: TTWO) has stubbed its toe yet again. Late in 2012 the video game publisher announced that its release of the Grand Theft Auto 5 would come in early 2013. It even allowed vouchers to be sold for Christmas as the Grand Theft Auto franchise has been a major hit for Take-Two’s Rockstar Games label.

Those vouchers are now not going to be as favorable. Take-Two has now said that the release date is not scheduled until September. The company said that it was proud to announce that Grand Theft Auto V is expected to launch worldwide for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation3 computer entertainment system on September 17, 2013. Proud? I think they meant “ashamed.”

Take-Two said, “The September release date moves the launch back from its original projected release window of spring 2013 in order to allow additional development time.” With the four titles before this having sold more than 125 million units in the first four games, Take-Two needs to understand that it cannot be proud about this delay.

Take-Two shares are down 6.2% at $12.24, against a 52-week range of $7.37 to $16.99. While the market cap is still more than $1.1 billion, this is going to greatly lower the sales expectations for the next two or three quarters from Wall St. analysts. Unfortunately that will be bad for development costs and bad for sales and earnings in the first, second and third quarters of this year.

Before the impact of this effort, Thomson Reuters had a consensus price target of $14.88 from 14 brokerage firms.
