For 2011, Whole Foods sees earnings of $1.87 to $1.90 EPS and Thomson Reuters has estimates of $1.80 EPS.  It is also backing same-store sales growth of 7.9% to 8.9% and total sales growth 11.7% to 12.6% for the year, both of which are higher than prior guidance.  The company maintained its cap-ex expectations at $350 million to $400 million.

During the quarter, Whole Foods generated $149.8 million in cash flow from operations and its total cash and cash equivalents were $721.2 million.  Its total debt was only $208.2 million.

The company called this the strongest results it has reported in the past five years and hinted that it is considering other uses for our growing cash balance, including accelerating growth, raising the dividend and repurchasing stock.

Whole Foods stock closed down $0.03 at $59.74 on Wednesday and the 52-week range is $33.96 to $66.87.  The after-hours reaction now has shares up almost 5% at $62.35.

Allergan Inc. (NYSE: AGN) is due Wednesday morning and shares were down 2.3% at $78.52 late on Tuesday.  Thomson Reuters has estimates of $0.74 EPS and $1.22 billion in revenues; next quarter estimates are $0.92 EPS and $1.32 billion in revenues.  Thomson Reuters has a consensus price target objective of $80.75 and the 52-week trading range is $56.26 to $80.70.

AOL Inc. (NYSE: AOL) is due Wednesday morning. Thomson Reuters has estimates of $0.17 EPS and $536.35 million in revenues; next quarter estimates are $0.22 EPS and $521.22 million in revenues.  The shares were trading around $20.30 late on Tuesday. Thomson Reuters has a consensus price target of $24.77 and the 52-week trading range is $18.51 to $27.65.

Garmin Ltd. (NASDAQ: GRMN) has managed to hold up despite competition and changing demand concerns.  The stock was around $33.50 late on Tuesday with earnings early Wednesday morning. Thomson Reuters has estimates of $0.33 EPS and $413.09 million in revenues; next quarter estimates are $0.65 EPS and $637.04 million in revenues.  Thomson Reuters has a consensus price target objective of $31.53 and the 52-week trading range is $26.11 to $39.05.

Goldcorp Inc. (NYSE: GG) may trade around gold more than earnings.  Shares were down 3.3% late in the day at $51.00. Thomson Reuters has estimates of $0.48 EPS and $1.26 billion in revenues; next quarter estimates are $0.53 EPS and $1.36 billion in revenues.  Thomson Reuters has a consensus price target objective of $64.50 and the 52-week trading range is $38.07 to $56.20.

JDS Uniphase Corporation (NASDAQ: JDSU) will come Wednesday afternoon and shares have come back to about $20.25. Thomson Reuters has estimates of $0.20 EPS and $448.17 million in revenues; next quarter estimates are $0.25 EPS and $470.18 million in revenues.  Thomson Reuters has a consensus price target objective of $24.74 and the 52-week trading range is $9.05 to $29.12.

MetLife Inc. (NYSE: MET) is due Wednesday morning and Thomson Reuters has estimates of $1.26 EPS and $15.89 billion in revenues.  Shares were around $46.32 late Tuesday and Thomson Reuters has a consensus price target objective of $55.44 and the 52-week trading range is $35.38 to $48.72.

Among the stocks which gained the most during last week were several retailers and the NYSE which entered into a “merger” agreement with the Deutsche Borse. NYSE (NYSE: NYX) shares rose nearly 16% over the course of the week. Among retailers, Big Lots (NYSE: BIG) said it would explore alternatives to sell the company. JC Penney (NYSE: JCP) rose as raider Bill Ackman joined its board. Whole Foods (NASDAQ: WFMI), on the other hand, jumped over 13% on better than expected earnings

OpenTable, Inc. (NASDAQ: OPEN) is far from a market mover, but shares are up well over 20%% from the lows of the year and shares hit a new all-time high of $85.95 on Friday.  Earnings are due Tuesday afternoon and Thomson Reuters has estimates of $0.21 EPS and $30.18 million in revenues; estimates for the current quarter underway are $0.25 EPS and $33.03 million in revenue.  Over the last 90-days, shares are up over 40%.  Again, no market mover here but definitely one for the active traders to watch.

The Coca-Cola Company (NYSE: KO) is due with earnings on Wednesday morning.  Thomson Reuters has estimates of $0.72 EPS and $9.75 billion in revenues; estimates for the current quarter underway are $0.85 EPS and $10.37 billion in revenue.  Over the last 90-days, shares are up roughly 2%.
