While most of us can only dream of owning a high-performance sports car, there are a few fortunate (and elite) individuals who get to experience the thrill of high-speed driving. Can you imagine speeding down the road at over 200 mph? Or even going beyond 300 mph? That’s exactly what these unbelievable vehicles can do! And it’s not just about raw power and speed; these sports cars offer unparalleled comfort, luxury, and of course, jaw-dropping aesthetics.

To find the speediest sports cars, 24/7 Wall St. took data from the online automotive news publication, Top Speed, ranking the Fastest Cars in the World based on their record-high speeds. We have added supplemental information from TopSpeed on details such as price, horsepower, type of engine, and zero-to-60 miles per hour acceleration time. Unsurprisingly, it takes a great deal of engineering and technology to design cars this powerful, and they aren’t for the average car buyer unless you’ve got an extra few million dollars stashed away somewhere. (These are the most outrageous car collections in the world.)

It wasn’t very long ago that people believed achieving a speed of 300 miles per hour was impossible. Today, the fastest car has surpassed that. The automotive industry continues to transform at a rapid pace, with each brand trying to outdo the other. Additionally, the global sports car market is big business, projected to reach $81 billion in 2024. And finally, autophiles fascinated with the latest innovations must keep up with the changing landscape.
