Cyndi Lauper was a rock star whose popularity peaked in the 1980s. She has just put her home in Connecticut up for sale at an asking price of $1.25 million. It was the most visited listing on Realtor.com this past week.

250 Saddle Hill Road is in Stamford, one of the state’s largest cities. It is on Long Island Sound, about 50 miles from New York City. Many of the residents commute to the Big Apple.

The home has three bedrooms and three and one-half baths. It measures 3,885 square feet and sits on 1.58 acres. The home was built in 1975.

Stamford is not a homogeneous city. Much of the land on the water is taken up by businesses in skyscrapers. Close to these, there are a number of very poor neighborhoods. Lauper’s house is in North Stamford, close to the Connecticut border, and several miles from downtown. From Saddle Hill Road is it only a few minutes drive to the wealthy towns of Bedford, Pound Ridge and New Canaan.
