Markets in Asia were largely up.

The Nikkei rose .7% to 16,528. Bridgestone was down 1.7% to 2640 Canon was up .2% to 6440. Daiwa Securities was up .2% to 1319. Fuji Film was up 1.7% to 4830. Hitachi was up .3% to 698. Honda was up 1.7% to 4140. NEC was up .6% to 589. NTT was up .5% to 585000. Sharp was up 2.7% to 2030. Softbank was 1% to 2415 Sony was up 1.5% to 4690. Toshiba was was up 1.1% to 752. Toyota was up 1.4% to 7140. Yahoo Japan was down 2.7% to 45550.

The Hang Seng was up 1% to 18,925. Cathay Pacific was up 2.8% to 19.18 China Mobile was up 1.7% to 62.85. China Netcom was up 7.9% to 18. HSBC was down .4% to 140.3. PCCW was up .2% to 4.62.

The KOSPI was flat at 1,391.

The Straits Times was up .8% to 2,887.

The Shanghai Composite was up 4.2% to 2,181.
