Is LaSorda Out At Chrysler Because Investors Pushed Him?

August 6, 2007 by Douglas A. McIntyre

One of the reasons that former Chrysler CEO Tom LaSorda was pushed out is that the investors who took on the debt from the Cerberus buy-out insist that he be replaced.

Cerberus had to reassure the markets on several occasions that it could raise the money to close the deal with Daimler. Investors may not have wanted the man at the helm when Chrysler fell apart to run the operation in the future.

That could explain why Bob Nardelli was brought on board.
