Crude Oil Rising, Gold Down Before Markets Open

A barrel of WTI crude is trading at $98.48, up $0.27, before US markets open this morning. Gold is trading down about $1.90/ounce, at $1,708.90/ounce.

The somewhat stronger dollar is weighing slightly on gold, and traders’ hopes for a solution to Europe’s financial troubles are boosting crude oil slightly.
