Transocean CFO Retires (RIG, BP, HAL)
January 6, 2012 by Paul AusickThe CFO of Transocean Ltd. (NYSE: RIG), Ricardo Rosa, is retiring from the company effective April 30th, and is resigning effective January 31st. Rosa joined Transocean in 1999 in an acquisition. He is 55 years old.
Transocean has been sued by BP plc (NYSE: BP) for up to $40 billion in damages related to the explosion and sinking of Transocean’s Deepwater Horizon in April 2010 that killed 11 workers and dumped 5 million barrels of oil into the Gulf of Mexico. BP is also suing Halliburton Co. (NYSE: HAL) for $21 billion related to the disaster.
Transocean said that Gregory Cauthen, currently a consultant to the company, but who also served as CFO before his retirement in 2009.
