The 52-Week Low Club for Wednesday

September 10, 2014: The following stocks are among the 85 equities making new 52-week lows today:

Cree Inc. (NASDAQ: CREE) dropped about 2.7% on Wednesday to a new 52-week low of $42.22. Share volume is about 15% above the daily average of around 1.7 million. The stock’s 52-week high is $75.98. Cree makes LED lighting solutions and shares have been sagging since mid-April. There was no specific news on the company today.

McDonald’s Corp. (NYSE: MCD) sank to a 52-week low on very late on Tuesday and fell further to a low of $90.53 early this morning. The bleeding has stopped and the stock has gained 2% to trade at around $92.80 late Wednesday afternoon. The stock’s 52-week high is $103.78.The company announced weak August same-store sales yesterday. Trading volume was about 65% above the daily average of around 5 million shares.

McDermott International Inc. (NYSE: MDR) dropped nearly 5% today to post a new 52-week low of $6.51. Share volume was about 20% higher than the average daily volume of around 3.7 million shares and the 52-week high is $9.36. There was no news on the company today and the offshore oilfield engineering and construction company has dropped 23% since the beginning of the year.

Nu Skin Enterprises Inc. (NYSE: NUS) dropped about 3% today to post a new 52-week low of $40.20. Volume is roughly equal to the daily average of around 1.4 million shares. The multilevel marketing firm had no news today, and today was the ex-dividend date for the stock. Shares have dropped nearly 70% since January. The stock’s 52-week high is $140.50.
