August 19, 2015: Here are four stocks trading with heavy volume among the 284 equities making new 52-week lows today.

Freeport-McMoRan Inc. (NYSE: FCX) dropped about 3.3% on Wednesday to set a new 52-week low of $9.59 after closing at $9.92 on Tuesday. The stock’s 52-week high is $37.10. Share volume totaled around 36 million shares, about 60% above the daily average of around 23 million. The company continues to suffer from low gold and copper prices, but had no specific news again today.

Micron Technology Inc. (NASDAQ: MU) dropped about 2.8% on Wednesday to post a new 52-week low at $15.92 after closing at $16.38 on Tuesday. The stock’s 52-week high is $36.59. Share volume was about equal to the daily average of around 32 million. The memory chip maker had no specific news today.

Vale Inc. (NYSE: VALE) dropped about 6.1% on Wednesday to post a new 52-week low of $4.77 against a 52-week high of $14.12. The stock closed at $5.08 on Tuesday night. Volume was nearly equal to the daily average of around 28 million shares traded. The company had no specific news today.

Rayonier Advanced Materials Inc. (NYSE: RYAM) posted a new 52-week low on Wednesday. Shares dropped about 56% to a low of $6.00 from Tuesday’s closing price of $13.63. The stock’s 52-week high is $33.69. Volume totaled nearly 17 million shares, about 30 times the daily average of around 500,000. The company revealed a legal dispute with Eastman Chemical.
