The 52-Week Low Club for Friday

June 3, 2016: Here are four stocks trading with relatively heavy volume among 15 equities making new 52-week lows in Friday’s session. NYSE decliners led advancers by about 5 to 4 while Nasdaq decliners led advancers by around 2 to 1.

American Airlines Group Inc. (NASDAQ: AAL) posted a new 52-week low on Friday. Shares traded at a low of $30.37, down about 4.1%, after closing at $31.67 on Thursday. The stock’s 52-week high is $47.09. Volume was nearly 15% higher than the daily average of 900,000 shares. The airline had no specific news Friday.

Trina Solar Ltd. (NYSE: TSL) dropped by about 11.7% on Friday to post a new 52-week low at $7.10 after closing at $8.04 on Thursday. The stock’s 52-week high is $13.25. Daily volume totaled about 4 times the average of around 1.2 million shares. The solar PV maker had no specific news either.

Conns Inc. (NASDAQ: CONN) dropped about 3.2% on Friday to post a new 52-week low of $8.35 against a 52-week high of $43.95. The stock closed at $8.63 on Thursday night. Volume was more than 4 times the stock’s daily average volume of around 830,000 shares. The specialty retailer reported dismal results Thursday morning, and the selloff continued in Friday’s trading.

Daktronics Inc. (NASDAQ: DAKT) fell about 4.2% on Friday to post a new 52-week low of $5.96 against a high of $12.35. The stock closed at $6.22 on Thursday night. Volume was about equal to the stock’s daily average of around 260,000. The maker of electronic display systems reported an unexpected Q4 loss Wednesday evening and the selling has continued.
