Ford, Rite Aid Dip into Tuesday’s 52-Week Low Club

May 16, 2017: Here are four stocks trading with relatively heavy volume among 129 equities making new 52-week lows in Tuesday’s session. On the NYSE, decliners led advancers by about 8 to 7 and on the Nasdaq advancers and decliners were about even.

Ford Motor Co. (NYSE: Ford) posted a new 52-week low of $10.90 on Tuesday, down about 0.4% compared with Monday’s closing price of $10.94. The stock’s 52-week high is $14.04. Volume totaled nearly 33 million shares, about 20% below the daily average of about 40 million. The company expects to be cutting 10% of its workforce.

Rite Aid Corp. (NYSE: RAD) dropped more than 11% Tuesday to post a new 52-week low of $3.65 after closing at $4.11 on Monday. The stock’s 52-week high is $8.77. Volume was about 60% higher than the daily average of around 18.6 million shares. The company’s stock took a hit today after a news report that the Federal Trade Commission sent more information demands to Rite Aid.

Macy’s Inc. (NYSE: M) dropped more than 2% Tuesday to post a new 52-week low of $22.71 after closing at $23.21 on Monday. The stock’s 52-week high is $45.41. Volume of more than 14 million was about double the daily average of around 7.2 million shares traded. The department store giant had now specific news.

Pandora Media Inc. (NYSE: P) dropped about 4.5% Tuesday to post a new 52-week  low of $9.28 after closing Monday at $9.72. The 52-week high is $14.98. Volume of nearly 11 million shares was more than 15% above the daily average of around 8.9 million. The company had no specific news.
