Marathon Oil, Anadarko Dip into Monday’s 52-Week Low Club

June 26, 2017: Here are four stocks trading with heavy volume among 49 equities making new 52-week lows in Monday’s session. On the NYSE, advancers led decliners by more than 2 to 1 and on the Nasdaq, advancers led decliners by about 4 to 3.

Marathon Oil Corp. (NYSE: MRO) dropped about 1.1% Monday to post a new 52-week  low of $11.40 after closing Friday at $11.53. The 52-week high is $19.28. Volume was about 40% lower than the daily average of about 13.7 million shares. The company had no specific news.

Bed, Bath & Beyond Inc. (NASDAQ: BBBY) posted a new 52-week low of $29.12 on Monday, down about 1.8% compared with Friday’s closing price of $29.65. The stock’s 52-week high is $48.83. Volume totaled more than 5.8 million shares, approaching double the daily average of around 3 million. The company posted disappointing results after markets closed last Thursday.

DryShips Inc. (NASDAQ: DRYS) dropped about 13% Monday to post a new low of $2.12 after closing at a split-adjusted $2.44 on Friday. Volume was around 3.3 million, close to the daily average of around 3.6 million split-adjusted shares. The company’s seventh reverse stock split since March 2016 — this one a 1-for-5 split — became effective Thursday morning.

Anadarko Petroleum Co. (NYSE: APC) dropped about 1.3% Monday to post a new 52-week low of $44.93 after closing at $45.50 on Friday. The stock’s 52-week high is $77.33. Volume of about 3.5 million was about 30% below the daily average of 5.2 million. The company had no specific news.
