Ford, AT&T Plunge into Wednesday’s 52-Week Low Club

July 25, 2018: Here are four stocks trading with heavy volume among 126 equities making new 52-week lows in Wednesday’s session. On the NYSE advancers led decliners by about 1.72 to 1 and on the Nasdaq, advancers led decliners by about 1.3 to 1.

AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) traded down about 4.9% Wednesday to set a new 52-week low of $30.13. Shares closed at $31.68 on Tuesday, and the 52-week high is $39.80. Volume was nearly double the daily average of around 44 million. The company reported disappointing results after the bell last night.

Ford Motor Co. (NYSE: F) dropped about 4.3% Wednesday to set a new 52-week low of $10.12. Shares closed at $10.57 on Tuesday and the stock’s 52-week high is $13.48. Volume was nearly double the daily average of around 36 million. The company reports after the bell today, but investors are not expecting good news after both GM and Fiat Chrysler posted weak results this morning.

New York Community Bancorp (NYSE: NYCB) traded down about 8.9% Wednesday and posted a new 52-week low of $10.40 after closing Tuesday at $11.41. The stock’s 52-week high is $14.53. Volume totaled around 14.3 million, about three times the daily average. The company reported undistinguished earnings this morning.

JetBlue Airways Corp. (NASDAQ: JBLU) traded down about 3.6% Wednesday to post a new 52-week low of $17.15 after closing Tuesday at $17.79. The stock’s 52-week high is $23.08. Volume was about double the daily average of about 4.7 million shares. The company reported a $120 million loss Tuesday morning.
