General Electric, Ford Dive into Monday’s 52-Week Low Club

August 13, 2018: Here are four stocks trading with heavy volume among 202 equities making new 52-week lows in Monday’s session. On the NYSE decliners led advancers by about 1.93 to 1, and on the Nasdaq, decliners led advancers by about 1.88 to 1.

General Electric Co. (NYSE: GE) traded down nearly 3% Monday to set a new 52-week low of $12.39. Shares closed at $12.77 on Friday, and the 52-week high is $25.55. Volume was about 20% below the daily average of around 64 million. The company said last Friday that it may sell its power-conversion business at a loss.

Ford Motor Co. (NYSE: F) traded down about 3.3% Monday to post a new 52-week low of $9.42 after closing Friday at $9.74. The stock’s 52-week high is $13.48. Volume was about 30% above the daily average of about 35 million shares. The company had no specific news.

Rite Aid Corp. (NYSE: RAD) traded down about 10% Monday and posted a new 52-week low of $1.33 after closing Friday at $1.48. The stock’s 52-week high is $2.80. Volume was nearly triple the daily average of around 13 million. The company had no specific news.

Orchids Paper Products Co. (NYSEAMERICAN: TIS) dropped more than 12% Monday to set a new 52-week low of $0.70. Shares closed at $0.80 on Friday and the stock’s 52-week high is $15.47. Volume totaled around 15 million, about 60 times the daily average of around 250,000. The company had no specific news. Shares have made a massive comeback and are on track to close at $2.47, up more than 200%.
