News Corp., JD.com Slink into Tuesday’s 52-Week Low Club

September 18, 2018: Here are four stocks trading with heavy volume among 104 equities making new 52-week lows in Tuesday’s session. On the NYSE advancers led decliners by about 1.31 to 1, and on the Nasdaq, advancers led decliners by about 1.6 to 1.

JD.com Inc. (NYSE: JD) traded down about 1.8% Tuesday to set a new 52-week low of $25.27 after closing at $25.73 on Monday. The stock’s 52-week high is $50.68. Volume was about 30% below the daily average of around 17.9 million. The company had no specific news.

Government Properties Income Trust (NASDAQ: GOV) traded down about 7.3% Tuesday and posted a new 52-week low of $11.77 after closing Monday at $12.70. The stock’s 52-week high is $17.21. Volume was nearly 7 times the daily average of around 1 million. The REIT announced Monday that will acquire another REIT, Select Income, and rename the combined company Office Properties Income Trust.

News Corp. (NASDAQ: NWSA) traded down about 0.3% Tuesday to post a new 52-week low of $12.23 after closing Monday at $12.27. The stock’s 52-week high is $17.29. Volume was about 60% above the daily average of around 4.3 million shares. The company had no specific news, and shares have reversed course to be on track for a gain of around 1.6% for the day.

Scientific Games Corp. (NASDAQ: SGMS) dropped about 2.3% Tuesday to set a new 52-week low of $24.35. Shares closed at $24.90 on Monday and the stock’s 52-week high is $62.80. Volume was about 65% higher than the daily average of around 1.5 million. The company had no news, and shares made a U-turn in the mid-morning that has set the stock on a path to gain nearly 6% by the closing bell.
