When Sears Holdings Corp. (NASDAQ: SHLD) posted first-quarter earnings on Thursday, the company reported a net loss per share of $3.93, more than double the analysts’ consensus estimate. Sears also said it would begin closing 72 Sears and Kmart stores out of about 100 the company felt were unprofitable.

By the time markets closed Thursday the company had not posted a promised list of the stores it planned to close. Apparently, the Sears nabobs continued reviewing which stores to close and finally settled on a total of 63, of which 48 are Sears stores and 15 are Kmart stores. The other nine stores “are being evaluated further.” The full list of closing stores appears at the end of this story.

The company also identified Sears Auto Center stores located in the same locations that would be closing in June and July. We counted 37 Auto Centers the company plans to shut down.

Sears said it will begin closing the stores in early September and that liquidation sales will begin as soon as June 14 at the stores that are being closed.

Investors, either unhappy at the closures in general or that Sears dropped the number it will close, have taken the stock down by around 12% Friday morning. It traded at $2.48 in a 52-week range of $1.99 to $10.76.

In addition to the Sears store’s closure in early September, the Sears Auto Center at this location will close in the following timeframe:
