David Letterman is one of the best known talk show hosts in the history of TV. Before his iconic and long-running show “Late Show with David Letterman,” which aired between 1993 and 2015,” Letterman hosted “Late Night with David Letterman” between 1982 and 1993. What brought the comedian to prominence is his self-mockery style and cynical sense of humor.
Letterman has been nominated for a Primetime Emmy award around 50 times, winning five. In 2010, Forbes also ranked Letterman No. 24 on its list of most powerful personalities in entertainment. Most recently, Letterman had a talk show on Netflix called “My Next Guess Needs No Introduction,” which lasted three seasons.
