Apple Group FaceTime: Any publicity good publicity?

January 29, 2019 by Steven M. Peters

If you didn’t know that you could do group calls on Apple devices, you do now.

From Benjamin Mayo’s Major iPhone FaceTime bug lets you hear the audio of the person you are calling … before they pick up, posted on 9to5Mac Monday:

A significant bug has been discovered in FaceTime and is currently spreading virally over social media. The bug lets you call anyone with FaceTime, and immediately hear the audio coming from their phone — before the person on the other end has accepted or rejected the incoming call. Apple says the issue will be addressed in a software update “later this week”.

As of mid-morning Tuesday, 4.2 million Twitter users had watched Mayo’s how-to video.

My take: Apple has taken the feature down. When they bring it back up, I’m going to give it try. I suspect I won’t be alone.
