Noble Corp., Canadian Solar in Wednesday’s 52-Week Low Club

August 17, 2016: Here are four stocks trading with relatively heavy volume among 34 equities making new 52-week lows in Wednesday’s session. NYSE advancers and decliners traded about even and Nasdaq decliners led advancers by about 5 to 4.

Noble Corp. (NYSE: NE) dropped about 5.9% on Wednesday to post a new 52-week low of $6.21 after closing at $6.60 on Tuesday. The stock’s 52-week high is $14.64. Volume totaled about 40% more than the daily average of around 8.6 million shares. The offshore driller released its fleet status report Wednesday morning showing one new contract and one cancellation.

Community Health Systems Inc. (NYSE: CYH) lost about 7% Wednesday to post a new 52-week low of $10.02 after closing Tuesday at $10.78. The 52-week high is $49.26. Volume of around 6.5 million was about a third higher than the daily average of around 4.3 million. The company had no specific news Wednesday.

Leidos Holdings Inc. (NYSE: LDOS) dropped about 0.6% on Wednesday to post a new 52-week low of $37.79 against a 52-week high of $59.52. Volume of around 7 million was about 3 times the daily average of around 2.4 million. The stock closed at $38.05 on Tuesday night. The company completed its purchase of the IT business from Lockheed Martin. Shares popped back to be on track for a gain of about 1.4% for the day.

Canadian Solar Inc. (NASDAQ: CSIQ) dropped about 7.3% on Wednesday to post a new 52-week low of $12.12 against a 52-week high of $29.83. Volume of around 4.6 million was more than double the daily average of around 2 million. The stock closed at $13.08 on Tuesday night. The stock was downgraded at Morgan Stanley this morning.
