Equifax, HP Enterprise Tumble into Wednesday’s 52-Week Low Club

September 13, 2017: Here are four stocks trading with heavy volume among 26 equities making new 52-week lows in Wednesday’s session. On the NYSE, advancers led decliners by about 8 to 7 and on the Nasdaq advancers led decliners by slightly less than that same ratio.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co. (NYSE: HPE) dropped about 1.1% Wednesday to post a new 52-week low of $12.97 after closing at $13.12 on Tuesday. The 52-week high is $14.86. Volume was around 16 million, about 20% above the daily average. The company had no specific news.

Equifax Inc. (NYSE: EFX) posted a new 52-week low of $101.27 on Wednesday, down about 12.7% from Tuesday’s closing price of $115.96. The stock’s 52-week high is $147.02. Volume totaled around 12.6 million shares, about 12 times the daily average. The company is getting hammered following its announcement of a data breach involving records for 143 million Americans.

New York REIT Inc. (NYSE: NYRT) dropped about 2.9% Wednesday to post a new 52-week low of $8.01after closing Tuesday at $8.25. The 52-week high is $10.15. Volume of around 4.7 million shares traded was more than triple the daily average. The company had no specific news.

Lexicon Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ: LXRX) dropped about 12.3% Wednesday to post a new 52-week low of $12.93 after closing at $14.74 on Tuesday. The stock’s 52-week high is $19.62. Volume of around 2.8 million was nearly 5 times the daily average. The company had no specific news.
