Japan Has Trade Deficit In October

According to MarketWatch, Japan swung back to a trade deficit in October, with the Ministry of Finance reporting Monday a trade gap of 273.8 billion yen ($3.56 billion). The result missed a median forecast for a surplus of ¥55.6 billion, according to a Dow Jones Newswires survey. Exports were down 3.7% from a year earlier with Japanese shipments to top trading partner mainland China falling 7.7% and with U.S.-bound exports slipping 2.3%.
