The 52-Week Low Club for Tuesday

May 5, 2015: Here are four stocks among the 104 equities making new 52-week lows today. Three of the four are repeats from yesterday’s list.

Alibaba Group Holdings Ltd. (NYSE: BABA) dropped 3.5% on Tuesday to post a new 52-week low of $77.77 against a 52-week high of $120.00. The stock closed at $80.59 on Monday night. Volume was about double the daily average of around 16 million shares. The company broke through its technical support barrier of $80 a share and the carnage began.

Nokia Corp. (NYSE: NOK) dropped 1.3% on Tuesday to post a new 52-week low of $6.30 after closing at $6.38 on Monday. The stock’s 52-week high is $8.73. Share volume was about 10% above the daily average of around 27 million shares traded. The company had no specific news today.

Nationstar Mortgage Holdings Inc. (NYSE: NSM) posted a new 52-week low on Tuesday. Shares dropped 26.6% to $19.21 from Monday’s closing price of $12.15. The stock’s 52-week high is $37.95. Volume was about 10-times the daily average of around 1.2 million shares. The company missed estimates when it reported earnings this morning.

AcelRx Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ: ACRX) dropped nearly 30% on Tuesday to post a new 52-week low of $2.96 after closing at $4.20 on Monday. The stock’s 52-week high is $11.65. Share volume was more than 4-times the daily average of around 132,000 shares traded. The company was denied a meeting with the FDA to discuss its pain drug device Zalviso.
