Ford, General Electric Wednesday’s 52-Week Low Club

August 15, 2018: Here are four stocks trading with heavy volume among 261 equities making new 52-week lows in Wednesday’s session. On the NYSE decliners led advancers by about 2.02 to 1, and on the Nasdaq, decliners led advancers by about 3.08 to 1.

General Electric Co. (NYSE: GE) traded down about 3.3% Wednesday to set a new 52-week low of $11.94. Shares closed at $12.35 on Tuesday, and the 52-week high is $25.30. Volume was about 15% below the daily average of around 64.5 million. The company had no specific news on a day when it fell to a nine-year low.

JD.com Inc. (NASDAQ: JD) traded down about 6.8% Wednesday and posted a new 52-week low of $31.48 after closing Tuesday at $33.87. The stock’s 52-week high is $50.68. Volume was well over double the daily average of around 13.8 million. The company had no specific news.

Ford Motor Co. (NYSE: F) traded down about 1.6% Wednesday to post a new 52-week low of $9.35 after closing Tuesday at $9.50. The stock’s 52-week high is $13.48. Volume was more than 15% below the daily average of about 36.3 million shares. The company said yesterday it planned to invest $740 million to renovate Detroit’s rail station for use as office space. Investors are not amused.

Rite Aid Corp. (NYSE: RAD) dropped about 5.2% Wednesday to set a new 52-week low of $1.27. Shares closed at $1.34 on Tuesday and the stock’s 52-week high is $2.80. Volume totaled around 21 million, about 30% above the daily average. Shares have turned around to trade flat or up slightly for the day
