June 19, 2015: Here are four stocks among the 40 equities making new 52-week lows today.

Chesapeake Energy Inc. (NYSE: CHK) dropped about 2.7% on Friday to post a fourth consecutive new 52-week low at $11.56 after closing at $11.88 on Thursday. The stock’s 52-week high is $29.92. Share volume totaled around 20 million, about 80% of the daily average of around 22.6 million shares traded. Oil prices dropped about 1.5% today, on the heels of Thursday’s nearly 2.5% drop in natural gas prices.

Healthways Inc. (NASDAQ: HWAY) dropped nearly 23% on Friday to post a new 52-week low of $12.02 against a 52-week high of $23.30. The stock closed at $15.53 on Thursday night. Volume totaled around 7.5 million shares, more than 15-times the daily average of around 460,000 shares. The company cut fiscal year guidance after markets closed last night.

CONSOL Energy Inc. (NYSE: CNX) dropped about 3.1% on Friday to post a new 52-week low of $23.41 after closing at $24.17 on Thursday. The stock’s 52-week high is $47.83. Share volume totaled more than 2.5 million shares, about 25% below the daily average of around 3.3 million. The company had no specific news today.

Newpark Resources Inc. (NYSE: NR) posted a new 52-week low on Friday. Shares dropped about 6.8% to a low of $7.34 from Thursday’s closing price of $7.67. The stock’s 52-week high is $13.60. Volume totaled around 2.2 million shares, more than double the stock’s the daily average of 840,000. The oil and gas field services company had no specific news today, but the falling rig count is not good news for Newpark and other services companies.
