Fortive beat both earnings and revenue while raising full-year EPS guidance to $2.95-$3.05, with core revenue accelerating to 6.7% growth after shedding its Precision Technologies segment. The company's 28% adjusted EPS growth and $200 million in buybacks underscore disciplined capital allocation.

Fortive reported Q2 2026 adjusted earnings per share of $0.74, topping the consensus estimate of roughly $0.71 by about 5%. Revenue came in at $1.097 billion, clearing expectations of $1.069 billion by nearly 2.6%. Both beats came after the company divested its Precision Technologies segment, a move that appears to be sharpening the remaining business — core revenue growth accelerated to 6.7% in the quarter.

The headline numbers were accompanied by a meaningful lift to full-year guidance, with Fortive now projecting adjusted EPS of $2.95 to $3.05. Adjusted EPS growth of 28% and $200 million in share buybacks during the period point to a management team leaning into capital returns rather than sitting on cash following the portfolio restructuring.

Looking at the recent earnings history, Fortive has now beaten or matched estimates in seven of the past eight quarters. The one miss — Q2 2025, when reported EPS of $0.58 came in just under the $0.59 estimate — coincided with the period surrounding the segment divestiture. The consistency of beats since then, including a particularly strong Q3 2025 outperformance of $0.68 against a $0.57 estimate, suggests the leaner company is finding its footing.
