Cannabis Benchmarks noted that supply cannot keep up with demand:
With increased access, social acceptance, media coverage and integration with pop culture, new consumers are becoming regular consumers. … Legal sales are on track to more than double, from less than $3 billion in 2014 to more than $6 billion in 2015, and demand continues to rise faster than supply.
As for the outlook, the analysts are expecting prices to continue rising:
The past 4-5 weeks have reset expectations for prices to trend similar to last year. Demand for larger quantities of higher quality flower continue to push up prices. Buyers and sellers are now anticipating that prices will climb faster in the new year, as black market supplies are not appearing to suppress prices as much or for as long as they have in the past.
