Federal Reserve Vice Chairman Janet Yellen, who chaired the Council of Economic Advisers under President Clinton and served as a former head of the San Francisco Fed, was recently chosen by President Obama to replace Ben Bernanke as chairman of the Federal Reserve in February. Yellen will be the first woman to run America’s central bank, and this historic choice has received much attention in the press.
