FTSE 100 Index (^FTSE)

The FTSE 100, or Financial Times Stock Exchange 100 Index, is the most widely used benchmark for the London Stock Exchange. It includes the 100 largest companies by market capitalization, commonly referred to as 'blue chips.' Covering sectors such as energy, finance, healthcare, and consumer goods, the FTSE 100 is a key indicator of the performance of the UK stock market. It is free-float adjusted and market-cap weighted, and is used globally by fund managers, ETFs, and institutional investors as a measure of UK equity performance.
