GE Olympic Projects Since 2006 Total $1 Billion

The Fairfield, Conn.-based company says it has supplied, among other things, medical scanners and other health monitoring devices for athletes, along with turbines and lighting to power electricity at Olympic venues.

For the London Olympics, the company said it “installed three Jenbacher engines at Olympic energy centers in London’s Stratford City and Kings Yard.” GE notes the engines could power 24,000 homes in the United Kingdom.

General Electric said it has been providing these services since 2006, when the Winter Olympics were held in Turin, Italy.
