Europe markets were off about 1% at 6.15 AM New York time.
The FTSE fell 1% to 6,541. Barclays (BCS) was down 1.2% to 724.5. Prudential (PUK) was off 2.2% to 747. Vodafone (VOD) was off 1.5% to 157.2.
The DAXX was off 1% to 7,700. Deutsche Telekom (DT) was off 1.3% to 13.47. Siemens (SI) was off 1.8% to 96.63.
The CAC 40 was down 1% to 5,997. Alcatel-Lucent (ALU) was off 1.6% to 10.13. AXA (AXA) was off 1.4% to 31.58.
