Spain said it may need 80 billion euro to support its weak bank system. That adds to concerns about its sovereign debt.

The DAX was off .68% to 6,072. The FTSE 100 was down .76% to 5,625.
In Asia, the Shanghia Composite was off 1% to 2,148 MarketWatch points out this is the lowest level since March 2009.
The Hang Seng was up .5% to 18,813. The Nikkei 225 moved down .8% to 8,489.
The drop in Shanghai is another indication of concerns about a slowdown in GDP and a possible collapse of home prices
