Lockhart Of Fed Makes Positive Comments About Economy

Dennis P. Lockhart the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta told the local Rotary Club that he sees improvements in the economy

He was quoted as saying in regard to the current situation

One of these is the condition of household finances. The financial health of households and consumers is better, broadly speaking, but not yet rosy-cheeked. The process of achieving full health will take longer.

And, he added that state and local governments continue to struggle with low tax bases and high financial obligations.

He added that the largest threat to the economy this year is trouble in Europe
