The fears that Germany wants an oversized say in the budgets of nations which need large bailouts have grown. The specter of Germany as both the banker and chief financial officer of parts of the eurozone has given some governments which need capital pause. It is likely that their citizens would violently reject such a huge role taken by the region’s largest nation by GDP.

Germany is pushing for Greece to relinquish control over its budget policy to European institutions as part of discussions over a second rescue package, a European source told Reuters on Friday.
