Ford’s (NYSE: F) sales continued to be mediocre compared to most of the other large car companies which market in the US. January sales were only higher by 7.4%. Ford is the only one of The Big Three that did not go into Chapter 11
The company announced that Ford sold 136,710 vehicles in January, up from 127,317 a year ago and down 35% from December’s total 210,140. The Ford brand, the company’s largest, saw a 8.3% increase in sales, while Lincoln sales were down 7.9%.
Company-wide, truck-sales rose 7.9% while utility-vehicle sales jumped 12%. Car sales advanced 2.4% and heavy-truck sales were up 24%.
