Swedes See Progress In Greece

Looking from the far north of Europe, to the south, the Swedes see progress on a Greek bailout, one which almost on one else see. If, from the vantage point, so far from most of the negotiation, they are right, the rescue of Greece must be close at hand

The WSJ reports

The Swedish finance minister said Friday that his impression is that progress is being made in discussions about the restructuring of Greek debt ahead of a likely meeting of euro-zone finance ministers Monday to discuss Athens’ second bailout package.

“I think there has been progress made on the issue. The signals that we have had from the International Monetary Fund and the [European] Commission and from Athens are pointing to progress,” Anders Borg told reporters here.
