The US and state attorneys general are close to a settlement with five majors banks which include Citigroup, Bank of America, and Wells Fargo over accusations of improper foreclosure practices The amount of the settlement will be $26 billion (WSJ)
The US will sue six large banks for the sales practices they employed with mortgage backed securities, often blamed for the start of the credit crisis (WSJ)
