The U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission has finished a study which shows that China has a growing ability to launch a huge cyber-attack on the America. Northrup Grumman (NYSE: NOC) researched and authored the report.
Among the key finding of the report are
Chinese capabilities in computer network operations have advanced sufficiently to pose genuine risk to U.S. military operations in the event of a conflict. A defense of Taiwan against mainland aggression is the one contingency in the western Pacific Ocean in which success for the United States hinges upon the speed of its response and the ability of the military to arrive on station with sufficient force to defend Taiwan adequately.
The research details other ways that China could undermine the integrity of US military information and operations.
The report begs that question of why Congress and the Administration have done nothing to force China to back down from its capacity to attack the US. The possibility is now well known and provent. Perhaps the government can wait until after a major attack to do something about it
