December 4, 2014: Here are four stocks among the 145 equities making new 52-week lows today.

Aeropostale Inc. (NYSE: ARO) dropped about 27.6% Thursday to post a new 52-week low of $2.31. The stock’s 52-week high is $9.95. Volume is nearly 10-times the daily average of around 2 million shares. The teen retailer reported weak quarterly results after markets closed Wednesday.

Peabody Energy Corp. (NYSE: BTU) dropped about 5% on Thursday to post a new 52-week low of $8.73 after closing at $9.19 on Wednesday. The stock’s 52-week high is $19.94. Share volume is about 20% above the 13 million daily average shares traded. The coal miner is sliding along with nearly every other energy-related stock.

Halliburton Co. (NYSE: HAL) posted a drop of about 1.8% today to establish a new 52-week low of $40.02 against a high of $74.33. Volume is about 60% above the daily average of around 17 million shares. Another major stock in the energy sector that is getting beaten up today.

Vale SA (NYSE: VALE) posted a new 52-week low on Thursday of $8.29. Based on Wednesday night’s closing price of $8.53 that’s a drop of nearly 2.8%. The stock’s 52-week high is $15.59. Trading volume is about 40% higher than the daily average of around 11 million shares. The iron ore miner said on Wednesday that it is curtailing capital spending.
