We are just entering into a new earnings season in which most major companies will report and set a direction for the market. We have included the consensus earnings estimates from Thomson Reuters and the stock price and trading history, as well as added some additional color on each.

Be advised that the earnings and revenue estimates may change ahead of the formal reports, and some companies may change reporting dates as well.

Alcoa Inc. (NYSE: AA) will share its most recent quarterly results on Tuesday. The consensus estimates call for earnings per share (EPS) of $0.34 and $5.34 billion in revenue. Shares traded at $31.37 on the close on Friday, in a 52-week trading range of $18.42 to $34.50. The stock has a consensus analyst price target of $33.92.

CSX Corp. (NASDAQ: CSX) is scheduled to reveal its third-quarter results on Wednesday. The consensus estimates call for $0.45 in EPS, as well as $2.70 billion in revenue. Shares were trading at $31.05 on Friday’s close. The consensus price target is $30.82. The stock has a 52-week range of $21.33 to $31.16.

Citigroup Inc. (NYSE: C) is set to report its third-quarter results early Friday. The consensus estimates call for EPS of $1.16 and $17.37 billion in revenue. Shares were changing hands at $49.28 as Friday’s trading came to a close. The consensus price target is $54.44, and the 52-week range is $34.52 to $56.46.

JPMorgan Chase & Co. (NYSE: JPM) also is scheduled to report its third-quarter results Friday morning. The consensus analyst estimates are $1.39 in EPS and revenue of $23.94 billion. Shares of this megabank ended the week at $68.11. The consensus price target is $71.37. The 52-week range is $52.50 to $69.03.

Wells Fargo & Co. (NYSE: WFC) is set to share its latest quarterly earnings on Friday. The consensus estimates call for $1.01 in EPS and $23.19 billion in revenue. Shares traded at $45.33 on Friday’s close, in a 52-week range of $43.55 to $56.34. The consensus analyst target is $50.54.
