AngloGold, Criteo Tumble into Thursday's 52-Week Low Club

  • December 14, 2017: Here are four stocks trading with heavy volume among 117 NYSE and Nasdaq equities making new 52-week lows in Thursday’s session. On the NYSE decliners led advancers by about 2 to 1 and on the Nasdaq, decliners led advancers by slightly more than 2 to 1.

Top Ships Inc. (NASDAQ: TOPS) dropped about 19% Thursday to post a new 52-week low of $0.26 after closing at $0.32 on Wednesday. Volume was around 21 million, about double the daily average of around 11 million. The shipping company had no specific news.

Criteo SA (NASDAQ: CRTO) dropped about 30% Thursday to post a new 52-week low of $22.00 after closing at $31.61 on Wednesday. The stock’s 52-week high is $56.00. Volume of nearly 55 million was about 15 times the daily average. The ad tech firm chopped its revenue forecast this morning as a result of changes to Apple’s iOS software that make Criteo’s ad tracking software less effective.

AngloGold Ashanti Ltd. (NYSE: AU) dropped about 6% Thursday to post a new 52-week low of $8.86 after closing at $9.43 on Wednesday. The 52-week high is $13.68. Volume was around 4 million, about 35% above the daily average of around 2.7 million. The gold miner had no specific news.

Nordic American Tankers Ltd. (NYSE: NAT) posted a new 52-week low of $2.64 Thursday, down a penny after closing at $2.65 on Wednesday. The 52-week high is $9.32. Volume was about 4.5 million, more than 3 times the daily average of around 1.3 million shares. The company announced Wednesday morning that it had priced a sale of $110 million in new shares at $2.75 per share.
