On October 1, 2026, the company behind the OFFICIAL TRUMP (CRYPTO:TRUMP) meme coin opened a contest that awards gala seats to the token’s largest holders. Crypto News reports that the contest covers the top 185 holders. CoinGape reports that the gala is set for Nov 22 in Washington and that seats will be awarded through a time-weighted contest.
As of 2:39 p.m. ET on October 1, 2026, TRUMP was trading at $2.07.
What Holders Are Competing For
The dinner will be held at a Trump-branded property in Washington. The top 29 holders get a VIP reception, and the top 4 receive an 18-karat trademarked gold watch.
“Time-weighted” means the contest counts how long you have held the token and how much you own, favoring early buyers who hold until the event. The largest account holds $104 million of TRUMP.
A 97% Collapse Alongside a Recent Rebound
TRUMP hit its all-time high of $73.43 on January 19, 2025. It now stands 97.18% below that peak and is down 72.54% over the past year. Its market value of $583.6 million ranks 108 among crypto assets, which puts it outside the top 100.
The token hit an all-time low of $1.37 on August 13, 2026 and has gained 43.18% over the past 60 days, up 2.32% in 24 hours.
Billions Lost, Hundreds of Millions Earned
Watchdog group Public Citizen estimates that investors in the meme coin are $3.2 billion underwater. Its total across all of the president’s crypto ventures is $4.7 billion. Separately, reporting on financial disclosures indicates the president earned $635 million in licensing fees from the meme coin, part of $1.4 billion in crypto earnings disclosed for 2025.
The president sold the company marketing rights to his name, creating legal distance between him and the token. A longtime associate leads the venture.
Reality Check: Who Gets a Seat
“Foreign buyers and special interests can compete for a seat at his dinner and the guests are vetted in secret. Americans deserve to know who is buying access to Trump, and what they want in return,” said Zach Everson, research director at Public Citizen.
The first gala in May 2025 had 220 guests, including a Chinese billionaire, Fortune reported. Afterward, crypto entrepreneur Justin Sun celebrated the dinner as a “strong signal” to the industry, according to the South China Morning Post. This will be the third such event. Members of Congress objected to the earlier ones, and reporting says Democrats are again threatening scrutiny.
Reporting also tells the story of Nick Pinto, a 26-year-old who put $450,000 into the token and now holds roughly $50,000. According to that reporting, he attended the first dinner, where the president stayed about 20 minutes and the steak was 5 ounces. He plans to go again.
What Is Actually Being Sold Here?
Public Citizen describes the contest as an access market presented as a loyalty reward. The time weighting keeps buyers holding, the levels pay off for bigger positions, and the screening happens out of public view. Critics, including Public Citizen, say those features amount to a sales mechanism built around access to the president. Before Nov 22, three things will show which way this goes: whether the company releases its screening rules or guest list, whether congressional Democrats open a formal inquiry, and whether TRUMP stays above its August low of $1.37, according to CoinGape.
