Reuters writes that GE Aviation has reached a $550 million deal with Shanghai Airlines.

The Wall Street Journal reports that UAL and Continental are discussing a possible merger.

The WSJ reports that IBM and Yahoo! have entered into a joint venture to distribute free software to search both the web and files on PCs.

The New York Times says that Ebay unit Skype will start charging $30 a year for some of its VoIP services that are currently free.

FT reports that GE has forecast slower profit growth for 2007.
