LinkedIn Corporation (NYSE: LNKD) has just opened and the price was at $83.00 per share after a $45.00 pricing.  We conducted a poll after the social media outfit raised its IPO price range by about 30%, and the results we had on a preliminary indication showed that the $42 to $45 price was already too high.  It turns out that the smallest group looking for the highest price was the right group.

As of yesterday we were expecting a post-IPO open north of $50.00 based upon the higher pricing.  But now we have just gotten an opening price of $83.00 per share and it appears as though we have seen a price north of $90.00 since the open.

The company’s fully diluted share count was listed as 94,498,627 shares between the A-shares and B-shares.  At $83.00, LinkedIn is worth $7.84 billion.  At $90.00, LinkedIn is worth $8.5 billion.

There is one takeaway that some other billionaires are going to consider… The value of Facebook just went up on a relative basis.
