Another Reason Not To Buy A Nissan: New Car Ratings Out

The new performance scorecard from Truecar.com which it describes as how it “measures the overall performance of a brand or manufacturer based on pricing, sales, incentives, customer loyalty, market share, and inventory turn data.”

Some of the vehicles at the top of the list are strangers to the better end of car ratings. Land Rover is an example, but now that it is owned by Tata Motors, quality may have improved.

Audi, BMW, and Porsche are very high on the list. The Jaguar, which used to be a widely criticized brand is in the “A” category as well. It was bought by Tata, too.

Nissan is at the bottom of the list. It does not have the long-term quality reputation that Honda (NYSE: HMC) and Toyota (NYSE TM) do. But, oddly enough Honda rates very poorly. Saab, Mazda, and Volvo fill out the section of the worst vehicle brands. It will be interesting if the three, all of which are small companies, will be around in 10 years.
