Assurant posted adjusted EPS of $6.46 for the third quarter of 2026, clearing the consensus estimate of $4.71 by 37%. Revenue came in at $3.53 billion, beating expectations by 2.31% and rising 9.2% from a year earlier. The gap between what analysts expected and what the company delivered on earnings was one of the widest the company has produced in recent quarters.
The standout driver was Global Lifestyle, where Connected Living earnings jumped 23%, fueled by mobile supply chain volumes, device protection programs, and growing financial services contributions. Global Lifestyle segment revenue reached $2.66 billion, up 11% year over year. Global Automotive also contributed, rising 9% excluding a prior-year non-run-rate benefit, on improved loss experience and global partnership growth.
Global Housing held its ground despite absorbing $16.80 million in higher reportable catastrophe losses during the quarter. The segment posted revenue of $744.9 million, up 6%, supported by Homeowners specialty product growth and higher average insured values in lender-placed insurance. Excluding catastrophes, Global Housing Adjusted EBITDA rose 11%, aided by lower non-catastrophe claims frequency and reduced catastrophe reinsurance costs.

On the strength of those results, management raised the full-year 2026 outlook. The company now targets approximately 10% growth in Adjusted EBITDA excluding catastrophes, off a 2025 base of $1.73 billion, and low double-digit growth in Adjusted EPS excluding catastrophes. Global Lifestyle is expected to lead the way with mid-to-high teens Adjusted EBITDA growth for the full year.
Assurant also increased its commitment to share repurchases, setting the 2026 total at $350 million. The company repurchased roughly 268 thousand shares for $75 million in Q3 alone, and followed that with roughly 108 thousand additional shares for $30 million in October. CEO Keith Demmings framed the buyback expansion as a signal of confidence: "Supported by our strong capital position, we now expect share repurchases of $350 million, while preserving flexibility to invest in attractive growth opportunities across the business."
