Baidu's shares touched $79.78 on October 19, 2026, marking a fresh 52-week low and undercutting the previous trough set just three sessions earlier by 0.45%. That slim margin matters because it signals the stock is not finding a floor: each attempted stabilization has given way to another leg down.
The steepness of the decline over the past year puts the damage in sharp relief, with the stock above $162 at its January peak and roughly half its value gone in less than a year.
From January onward the price action is a largely unbroken series of lower highs and lower lows, and brief recoveries toward the $130 to $140 range faded as sellers reasserted control before any rebound could gain traction.
For investors watching from the sidelines, the central question is whether $79.78 represents a washout level or simply the latest stop on a longer slide. The facts on hand do not yet offer a reason the selling pressure has exhausted itself, and a stock cutting new annual lows three sessions apart gives little technical comfort to buyers.
