Berkshire's B shares cleared the prior 52-week peak set on August 10, touching $532.02 and moving into territory the stock had not visited in at least a year. That prior high had effectively acted as a ceiling throughout the year before this session.

A 52-week high removes overhead supply: investors who bought at any point in the past year are now sitting on a gain, which eliminates the pool of sellers waiting to break even. That changes the character of the trading.

Berkshire's market value sits at $1.1 trillion, making it one of the largest companies in the world. At that scale, a clean break to new highs reflects broad institutional conviction, since moving a position of that size requires sustained buying pressure.

The move above the prior congestion zone is a decisive step, and the next meaningful test will be whether the stock holds above the prior high on any near-term pullback.
