Block reported Q2 2026 earnings per share of $1.02, clearing the consensus estimate of $0.87 by about 17%. Revenue came in at roughly $6.62 billion, topping expectations of $6.48 billion by about 2%. Despite the double beat, the initial market reaction in XYZ was choppy, suggesting investors may have been positioning for an even larger upside surprise.
The more forward-looking signal was the full-year guidance revision. Block raised its gross profit target to $12.51 billion, representing 21% growth year over year. That kind of upward revision on top of a beat typically commands attention from growth-oriented investors, and it sets a higher bar for the back half of 2026.

Looking at the recent earnings history, Block's results have been uneven. The company missed estimates in Q4 2024, Q1 2025, and Q3 2025 before stringing together beats in Q4 2025, Q1 2026, and now Q2 2026. The consistency of the last three quarters, combined with the raised outlook, marks a notable shift in the trend worth watching as the year progresses.
